I was born & raised in Idaho, but had been living a nomadic lifestyle since 2015.

(Places: Virginia, Washington State, San Diego, California & PNW)

I recently moved back to Boise, Idaho for nursing school and am excited about where that will lead. I started this blog (initally called Nomadic Niche) back in 2017 as a way to educate, inspire, and encourage other women through wellness, travel, and sharing the western way of living through adventure photography. I recently rebranded to The Travelin' Cowgirl as I felt it was best for me to share my roots. My ultimate goal is encouraging other women to be confident in themselves by promoting a comparison-free mindset, and inspiring them to get outside of their comfort zones by traveling to new places and trying new things.

I hope to inspire and encourage you to be the best version of yourself you can be!

I am excited to spill some wellness tips, share western fashion, and adventure together all while sharing some of the best places to eat & explore in the Pacific Northwest &

around the world.

I married my best friend @travisgt23 yesterday April 17th ♥️ Three years together, and every step has felt like it was guided exactly where it was meant to be. God placed us in each other’s lives in the most beautiful way, and we continue to see His hand in all the blessings that led us here. 🤍 Marrying my best friend, my soulmate, feels so right, and I’m beyond excited to spend the rest of my life building a life rooted in faith, love, and purpose.

And the celebration isn’t over yet, we’re so excited for our intimate, formal ceremony happening this September; surrounded by our immediate family, honoring this next chapter and all the blessings still to come. ✨

I always knew this day would come… but knowing never makes it easier. How do you ever wrap your head around losing your heart horse? The truth is, you don’t. You just learn to live with the space they leave behind.

And you, Tazzy Boy, left a space that can never be filled.

You were never just a horse to me. You were my heart horse. My secret keeper, the one who listened without judgment when I sat beside you and told you everything I was too afraid to say out loud. Through every stage of my life, you were there; steady, patient, and somehow always understanding more than words could ever explain.

You watched me grow. You carried me through chapters of my life that shaped who I am today. Through the good days and the hard ones, your quiet presence was always waiting for me.

There was something about you that only a heart horse has. A connection that can’t really be explained, only felt. You knew my heart, and I knew yours. And in so many ways, you helped hold mine together.

Losing you feels like losing a piece of my soul. But loving you was one of the greatest gifts of my life. Thank you for every ride, every moment spent, every lesson you taught me about patience, trust, and unconditional love.

You were my once-in-a-lifetime horse, you taught me how to be a better rider, you were my confidant, my partner, my little speed demon papered as Tazmanian Devil.

And no matter how much time passes… you will always be my heart horse.

best birthday getaway to date

We totally winged my birthday getaway to Ketchum, Idaho & accidentally found our new favorite tradition ✨

Ketchum, Idaho is (2 hours & 40 min from Boise) we stayed at Kentwood Lodge it was the ideal home base for a laid-back, chill, & relaxing stay.

Dinner at Pioneer Saloon felt like stepping straight into the spirit of the old west, where business was done with a handshake and a drink, and the beef is perfectly aged, tender, and full of flavor.

And let me tell you… that prime rib? Absolutely lives up to the hype. Let’s not forget to mention they serve HUGE yummy perfected baked Idaho potatoes.

From the natural wood interiors to the mounted game, every corner pulls you deeper into that authentic saloon atmosphere; but The Trophy Room? next level. It’s cozy, rich with history, and hands down the spot that makes the whole experience feel iconic.

These burgers are made with Grass-fed & finished beef from Stack Rock Ranch; a family-owned ranch located in the Boise Foothills doing things the right way. Smoked on @traegergrills

Juicy Grass-Fed Beef Burger
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons milk
4 hamburger buns
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and milk. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4-inch thick.
3. Smoked at 350 until internal temp is reached.
